Focus and Scope
The RRS is an Open Access journal with no subscription, submission, or publication fees of any kind! The focus of The Review is based upon the founding vision of the SRSA; papers of potential interest are those that examine social, economic, political and behavioral phenomena that have a spatial dimension. The Review of Regional Studies has been provided as a service to the scholarly community by the Southern Regional Science Association since 1970. We publish high-quality scholarly research, and provide for wide dissemination as an open access journal with no fees of any kind.
We are indexed on RePEc, ECONLIT, Cabell's, ABI/Inform, and EBSCO.
Our RePEc Simple Impact Factor for March 2017 is 1.539, which ranks us in the top 20% of RePEc journals. We especially encourage submission of articles presented at the SRSA Conference (March 30 - April 1, 2017, Memphis, TN) and NARSC (November 9-12, 2016, in Minneapolis, Minnesota). You will need to create an account to submit articles. Please contact Amanda Ross if you have any questions on submitting articles. If you are interested in writing a book review, please contact Robert or Leslie Dunn.

Peer Review Process
Manuscripts will be acknowledged upon receipt through the upload function on this website, and will receive prompt consideration. After an initial assessment of the suitability of the manuscript for THE REVIEW by the Editor, the manuscript will be sent to at least two referees for double-blind review. The goal of the editors is to complete the review and respond to the author(s) within two to three months. For manuscripts invited to be resubmitted for further consideration, both the referee comments and comments by the editor will be provided to the author(s) to facilitate revision.
Referees are selected by the Co-Editors based on their knowledge of the theoretical, methodolgical, and topical content of the manuscripts. Typically at least one member of the Editorial Board is used in the review process.
The Review typically publishes 3 issues per year, as Summer, Fall, and Winter.
